Swim Time Trial
Dec 26, 2007Did a 1,000 SCM time trial this morning. 1×150 Swim 1×100 Kick 1×100 Swim 1×1000 for time Did it in 13:54 (1:23/100) which is pretty good actually. I felt like a newbie swimmer. Had terrible breathing patterns especially into and out of the turns. I probably went out a bit quick – hit 200 @ 2:39. I’m really going to …

Dec 26, 2007Christmas has come and gone. I spent some time at my parents and got stuck in a snowstorm on the way home. Life in general is good, have some computer issues that I’m dealing with at home, and fairly low motivation for working out right now. That’s something I’ve got to figure out how to resolve, I’ve been attempting …

Dec 10, 2007On Saturday I did a 5k race in Racine. Turns out they cut a little off the course at the last minute and it was about .25 miles short. I finished in 17:26 – which on pace alone equates to about an 18:56. Makes me think it was a little more then .25 short, but still should be under 20 which I feel is pretty good …

Nov 16, 2007What’s new? Not to much. I’m currently enjoying my offseason. Really enjoying it. In fact, I can count on my fingers (7) how many workouts I’ve done in the weeks since Hawaii (5). I’m getting lazy, and I don’t mind. I’ve spent a lot of time playing video games, reading, and just not thinking about triathlon. I know …

It always seems as if there is some major event that must occur in our lives before we begin living. -George …

Nov 5, 2007It’s officially the off-season for me, or depending on your point of view the rejuvenation/transition phase of the 2008 triathlon season. That means it’s time to get "fat", and out of shape. I’m convinced that doing nothing for 3 weeks after Hawaii accomplished that goal brilliantly. It also means that as far …

Oct 21, 2007I was a bit unprepared for the swim to start – I was floating in about the second row in the middle of the start line, when out of the blue Mike Reilly said “Have a good day” – BOOM! No count down, just go. The swim start was the roughest I’ve been in – probably had something to do with the fact that this was the World …

Oct 18, 2007Proud, yet Humbled. While I can’t find the exact word to describe my feelings about my race here in Hawaii, the combination of those two words is the closest I can come to putting them into words. Looking back at my race, it was all that I could have hoped for a challenging course beautiful weather great support from …

Oct 1, 2007Did a race sim ride yesterday. 4 hours on the bike + 1 hour run. The bike was spectacular, windy, very windy. Ended up with 83.8 miles in 4 hours. – 20.9 average – my fastest training ride ever. I rode it similar to how I plan to ride in Kona. 135 soft HR cap, 145 hard HR cap. I only exceeded 145 once – was going up a …
